Happy Friday! So glad the weekend is almost here!

So I wasn't kidding when I said something about the teal/hunter/forest greens has been catching my eye lately. haha.. I seem to be gravitating over by wearing it a lot more for the fall season (maybe because I live in the beautiful Emerald city?). And maybe since teal is one of my favorite colors. It's hard not to wear more of your favorite! So here's another combination of dark teal and black with gold jewelry. I also wanted to show the outfit with and without the jacket. Funny story - I was running out the door when I realized I had forgotten to put on a jacket.. with a quick scan I grabbed this out of my closet and didn't realize I had chosen a jacket with 3/4 quartered sleeves. Oh well... still works right?? My top has sheer sleeves! That's my defense. ;)

What are you guys up to for the weekend? My friends and I will be heading out to Target early tomorrow morning to go check out the new Neiman Marcus/Target collection. Wish me luck if I find anything! hahaha...

Peacock Wannabe

Top: TJ Maxx (OR this)
Cardigan: Old Navy (Similar)
Headband: H&M (OR this)
Ring: DulceCandyxo (Here)

I bought this peacock inspired (wannabe) headband a few years ago at H&M and just loved the colors of green and black together. And lately my closet been accumulating hunter/forest green colors.. I don't know why, the color has been catching my eye! The sleeveless top with the gold buttons down the middle and on the shoulders adds the nice touch. And with the cold Seattle weather being the same ol' self, adding the layer of the cropped cardigan was needed. The bottom was cutoff in the photos but I was wearing black skinnies with black pumps. And the DulceCandyxo ring is no longer available in black but I added the link to green which I felt was nice as well. :)

So I always have a place for any jewelry especially when they sparkle! Who can't get enough of pretty things that glitters and sparkles?? I know I can't! Leather Riding Boots

Happy Cyber Monday! Hope everyone's holiday break was great!

I am in love with my new riding boots that I scored from Target on-line. Mini story behind them - I always had the absolute hardest time looking for leather boots that will fit my calves... granted that I'm short but my calves are slightly big and buying knee-high boots that'll allow me to have room to wear thick socks or skinnies is really slim. I just can't get them up past my calves!! Does anyone else have this problem?? I only have a pair or two that has been squeezed in but hardly any room... So when I saw these riding boots on my friend who has a similar situation as me, I got super excited and had to get them! It's an amazing find to get boots that'll fit (with room!) and look great at the same time. lol! So I will probably be wearing them quite often in my future outfits. ^__^

When I was in San Fran, I saw a lot of girls sporting this style of the cotton mini skirt with leggings. So I of course then wandered straight into H&M and bought a few in different colors. I love it because it's comfy and great to layer with for the cold weather. A nice simple look without putting a lot of thought into it. haha..

Who's on-line shopping right now for the great deals??
Check out Ebates (here) for Cyber Monday double cash back on 500+ retailers! ;)

Thankful List 2012

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Normally I would post an outfit of the day but since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought it would be more fitting and fun to put together a thankful list. :)

What I'm Thankful For:

My loving and wonderful husband.

There are times where I am thankful that we work at the same company because even though we don't work  together in the same dept.. every morning you still offer to carry my work laptop and stuff as my "mule" (inside joke). That way I can walk up the stairs properly in my heels. I love you for being so thoughtful. It's like having someone carry your books back in the day. <3

My little sister/photographer.

I know some people may assume that the Hubs take my outfit photos (he takes some but mainly my food blog pics!) but in reality, my talented sister is the one behind the lens. Always there and available to take photos when I need her. I'm thankful for that! We're the Cobras! (Friends reference)

My supportive parents.

No words can describe how extremely thankful I am for my parents. Always supportive on anything I do and will lecture me until my ears fall off. hahaha... I listen!! And besides Food Network, they are the ones who taught me my mad cooking skills. And maybe some fashion sense.. couple on the right. ;)

My little boo boo, Kobi.

What other doggie can have a big cheesy smile on his face?? It makes me laugh.

My close friends! I cannot do without you guys.. all the listening and chatting about everything from food to work to any random stuff. We can have the same conversation everyday but still not get bored of each other. I'm grateful for you. ^__^

And last but not least! To all the new readers and blogger friends I've made via here, InstagramTwitter, and Facebook. I never thought I'll 'meet' such nice peeps here on the blogosphere when I first started this blog.. A huge thank you! Without you guys, my blog wouldn't be anything.. it'll be just filled with blah. lol! It's truly been a great journey and I'm excited to continue it!

I can be thankful for many many more but to keep it nice and somewhat short.. this would be my list. :) For those who are celebrating, have a Happy Thanksgiving! And enjoy all the yummy foods! I'm glad you guys liked my cornbread and sausage stuffing recipe! Also, don't go too crazy for those who are Black Friday shopping! I might be one of them...

What are you most thankful for?

Cornbread and Sausage Stuffing

Monday, November 19, 2012

Countdown to Thanksgiving has begun!! Time to stuff ourselves with yummy foods and spending time with our loved ones. This year would be the first year that we won't be having a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day. My mom dropped the news on us last week and we were like "whaaa?? no turkey?!?! but.. but.. we always have turkey every Thanksgiving!!" Yeah.. long story but we would be eating at a restaurant instead on Thanksgiving day (sniff.. like the Santa Clause movie?). But I took matters in my own hands and decided to throw together a turkey dinner for my family this past Saturday to at least have some turkey even though it wouldn't be on the day of. Good enough right?? Also, this was my first time ever hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the family. So I wanted to make sure I planned a full dinner which in the end came out to be way too much food. hahaha.. That's me! I always want to make sure you get plenty of food than not enough. That would be my fear!! 0_0
If you follow me on Instagram, you would've seen my dinner plate. haha...

So during my prep for the turkey dinner, I wanted to share my recipe of cornbread and sausage stuffing that I make every year. It's really simple and easy to make! I wouldn't show you guys if it wasn't. ;)

Let's get started..

I cheated.. I use cornbread mix. It saves me time! I usually use Marie Callender's but this time I tried Jiffy mix which Bon Appetit magazine recommended for their cornbread stuffing too! ;)
I make the cornbread a day ahead!! Because the cornbread will be more dense and easier to make the stuffing with. FYI - I used 2 boxes of the Jiffy mix. But it all depends on how much you want to make.
I highly recommend doing this the day before you plan on serving the stuffing.
On the day of, cut the cornbread into 3/4 inch cubes.

Finely chop three stalks of celery and one medium sweet onion.

In a medium pan, cook 1lb of pork sausage or italian sausage (which is what I used this time) until browned.
Once it's cooked, put the sausage into a large mixing bowl.

Add the chopped celery and onion into the pan. Also add 1/4 cup of water. Cook for 10 mins.
The veggies will soften. Season with salt and pepper.

Once cooked, add the veggies to the sausage in the large mixing bowl.

 In the meantime....

Simmer 1 cup of low-sodium chicken broth..

Finely chop fresh sage.. I chopped four leaves.

Lightly beat three large eggs..

Add the egg and sage into the large mixing bowl with the cooked veggies and sausage.

Then add the cubed cornbread into the mixture.
Also add 1/2 cup of the chicken broth (should be moist not wet) and lightly toss and mix.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add the cornbread/sausage mixture into a baking dish.
Bake for 1 hour.

It is ready to be served at the Thanksgiving table! ^__^

Serving size: 6-8

You can always make this ahead of time during the day of and then cover/refrigerate until ready to be baked.
And it's your choice to add the pre-baked stuffing into the turkey! But I chose to do it on the side.

Our table full of delicious dishes - green bean casserole, cole slaw, mac&cheese, roasted veggies, gravy made from the turkey drippings, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and lingonberry sauce including the turkey (post-carved by my dad!). Proud that I was able to get the turkey nice and juicy! Go me! hahaha..

Hope you guys enjoy! And let me know, what are some of your favorite dishes for Thanksgiving?

Happy Wednesday!

As some of you may already know,  I recently took a small trip to San Fran with my Hubby to go visit some of his family. While on our trip, I did a little shopping downtown....only a little.. ! If you follow me on Instagram, you would've seen a snippet of my haul here.. When we were there, we got to check out the new UNIQLO store (recently available for US on-line shopping click here!) which had just opened up in October. I would say it is pretty much like an Japanese H&M! The store itself was crazy busy and packed with people so I was only able to get these forest green jeans which I got lucky to find only in my size left! Afterwards I headed to H&M for their amazing knitwear sale and got this striped cream/berry colored sweater. Then on my Instagram hereyou would've seen my new fox gloves that I found at Forever 21 just this past weekend! I'm so in LOVE with them! Only because I've needed a pair of fingerless gloves so I can text in the cold and they looked kinda like my Kobi..

Don't you think??

Would you wear cool graphic gloves or mittens?

Hope everyone's week is going great so far!!

While everyone and their mothers (yep! my mom is one of them..) has been going to go watch the new 007 'Skyfall' movie (umm.. no bueno on the action films for me!), Hubs chose to take me out on a double date night to go watch 'Wreck-It Ralph' with my sis and her fiance which I absolutely loved!! It's such a cute and funny movie. I highly recommend it. :) I'm all about the cuteness! haha...
