Happy Friday! Yesterday marked one month since I've started SheisLovely blog. Yay!! Thanks to all the readers and for the continued support! I try my best to answer back all comments. ^_^

I'm not quite over summer yet (we still have time left!) but it doesn't hurt to think about fall/autumn.. right? I read that emerald green is coming in as a fall trend color. I never was huge on following season colors but I had this pretty emerald green blouse that I bought last year hanging in my closet that I thought fitted for this upcoming season. I paired it with a heather grey cotton blazer and some gold accents. It's a pretty color combo.

Another reason for this OOTD that I wanted to share with you guys was this ring that looks similar to the YSL arty ring! I had spotted an arty replica on Pinterest off the Polyvore website but it was out of stock! Now I know I can just get the original YSL arty ring but I've been trying to be really good at my spendings.. thanks to my recent big purchase..*hugs Chanel* haha.. >.<

Lovely YSL arty rings. Sigh..One day.. :) Taken from NeimanMarcus.com

So when I saw this ring on dulcecandyxo.com for $9 + shipping I thought, why not? It looks almost similar and it is a fraction off of the YSL ring price of $290. What a savings! ;)

What are some bargain buys have you had lately?

Hot Pink Lace & Anniversary dinner

Thank you everyone for the lovely congrats and comments on our 1 year wedding anniversary!! I was not expecting it at all and loved reading them. I'm happy to share some of our special moments with you guys. :)

On our anniversary we went out to lunch and this was the outfit I had wore to it. Something nice and casual. Later on I changed into something more formal for our dinner which I didn't get to take pictures of unfortunately. :( I felt this outfit really stood out with the hot pink/magenta lace sleeveless top. I love the dotted pattern design on it as you can see on the last pic. So pretty! It's definitely see-thru so wearing a simple black tank top underneath was perfect. I paired it with all black pretty much and hardly any accessories because I wanted the hot pink color to shine! hehehe.. Also, I wore my Chanel jumbo flap cross-body because I got a request to show how it was worn like that from a previous reveal post.

Onto the food pics! For our anniversary dinner, Hubs took me to John Howie Steak in Bellevue. We were debating between this place or another restaurant that I absolutely love but the reservations was kinda crazy so we went with JH. I hope to post about the other restaurant later in the near future. ;)

Amuse bouche - top sirloin with a chimichurri sauce.

Tableside ahi-tuna tartare - where they come and make it for you.

American wagyu sirloin. Hubs got the Australian wagyu, WAY more tender and buttery. :)

Different type of salts that pairs with your seafood or steak.

My fav!! Lobster mashed potatoes!! So delicious. :)

I was able to order a mini replica (left) of our wedding cake from the same baker.
They made it look almost exact except we had used real ribbon on our wedding day (right) instead of an edible fondant ribbon. haha.. And I had chosen the quilted design all b/c of my love for Chanel. <3
The teal love birds on top are s&p shakers that I had hand-painted and decorated myself. Clever huh? :)
Hubs wanted to make it a tradition on getting this cake every year.. we'll see...

Cutting into our mini cake together. ;)

What would be some anniversary traditions you have or would want?
Thanks for reading this long post!

Cilantro-Garlic Salmon Spring Rolls

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Yesterday, Hubs and I came home a little late from work and I decided to throw together this simple and easy dish for our dinner. I would say it doesn't take a lot of time besides prepping the ingredients. We had a filet of salmon that was in the fridge that I needed to cook up so this was the best way to use it.

Slice up 8 cloves of garlic - may seem like a lot but depends on how big the filet of salmon is.

 Wash and dry the cilantro.

 Start chopping..

 Mince it up well.

Save some on the side for part of the filling.

Sliced garlic gets tossed into a pan of melted butter with olive oil.

 Add the minced cilantro.

Simmer together until garlic starts to show a little brown.

Pour the cilantro-garlic butter mixture all over the filet of salmon.

Bake for about 15-20 mins. You can tell when you use a fork and the salmon is flaky.

Side of the extra cilantro and blanched bean sprouts.

Rice noodles that was cooked in boiling water for 30 seconds. It cooks very fast!

The sauce - mixture of sriracha, peanut butter, and hoisin sauce.

The spread. We built our own as we ate! :)
Also, have a bowl of warm water on the side to dip the spring roll wrapper in. It softens it up fast and that's when you know it's ready to use.

Ta-da! Cilantro-garlic salmon spring roll!

Hope you guys try it out and enjoy!

Disclaimer: This is a simple recipe that I just threw together. I know it's not the traditional Vietnamese spring roll but this is my version since these ingredients is what I had on hand at the time. :)

Purple Ombre Sequins

First, I want to say "Thank you!!" for all the comments in my last OOTD post. You guys are so sweet!! I am loving the feedback and please continue them. I love to read what you guys think. :) I will try my best to reply back to all.

Onto my current OOTD - This outfit will probably give you some "accessories déjà vu" but it shows how much I love wearing them, right?? ;) I found this purple sequins top at Nordstrom Rack recently and the color is just so pretty. It's like a dark-ish lavender? Is that such color? haha.. I always thought lavender was lighter. -_- I feel the color is a mild transition from summer to fall which is coming up fairly soon! The ombre sequins gives it more than a casual approach but can be paired with colored skinnies (as I did) for going out with friends or a pair of slacks for work with a cute cardigan over. I wish I had captured the back of the top better because it's a silky-type material which feels super soft! The top is also loose enough so you can layer a cami underneath as well.

Update: Lovely thanks to Jess from What Jess Wore for helping me find the similiar link to the F21 necklace I'm wearing! It's pretty similar in length and style. The detail is a little different - the one I have is twisted and the one on the F21 site has little links connected. But either one I would choose to wear with this outfit!

Hope everyone is having a great week! It's almost the weekend! :)

What would be your favorite color(s) to wear for Fall/Autumn?

Peachy-love with Mixed Metals

If you haven't noticed already, I'm mixing metals with both gold and silver! *gasp* Yep! My gold F21 necklace with silver Tiffany & Co heart tag earrings to go along with a Hello Berry mini smoothie bracelet that is grey with gold chain. I always thought growing up that you can never mix gold and silver together. It was either you wear all silver or you wear all gold and that was that. It was almost like a fashion faux pas.. BUT that's all a myth and in the past because now a days, I'm seeing it more on fashion blogs and in general. So when I bought this Hello Berry bracelet, I knew it would go nicely with soft colors such as this OOTD - a peach top and white shorts to wear with gold or silver or BOTH!

A mini trend read: (Read Here)

Would you follow tradition or break it by mixing gold and silver? ;)
