Happy Wednesday!

I was thrilled when Aeropostale contacted me to join their VIP team! They've been working hard to vamp up their upcoming collection just in time for the Fall season. Their new launch, Aero Rocks Fashion happened just this past Monday and I was able to go check it out at one of their stores to see what was part of their new arrivals. I wore the outfit above to that event with some pattern mixing going on. haha.. I honestly haven't shopped or own a lot from Aeropostale since it was geared more towards the younger crowd. But now with the new collection, they're making their clothes more trendy and fashionable towards a larger crowd including me! So I'll be collaborating with Aeropostale to show you my own looks on how I would style their new arrivals and how you can get the same looks as well! Definitely stay tuned!!

Here are a few pictures from the event:

Love the destroyed denim jacket look over this sheer bird print top! The sheer white with prints under denim just makes it look perfect for even the Summertime! :)

I want this combo in my closet! This is great to wear for Fall with the heather grey band jacket paired with this navy blue sheer long sleeve floral shirt! I think the piped lining of the band jacket gives any top a more sophisticated look.

Overall I'm super excited for this collection and I can't wait to show you guys the looks that I come up with! Thanks to Aeropostale for this awesome opportunity! :)

I also want to mention that yesterday had marked my One Year Blogiversary for She is Lovely!! I honestly can't believe I've been blogging for a whole year! I remember when I had sat down and opened up my laptop to type out my first post here and my first outfit post here and thought that I might be silly to put myself out there in front of a bunch of strangers. Well those strangers turned out to be my lovely readers and without you guys I wouldn't be still here blogging away. So I wanted to say a huge "Thank you!" to each reader that has left me sweet comments or sent me personal emails to say I've inspired them. Those are truly the best and I really enjoy reading them and can't thank you guys enough for all the love and support!

To end this sappy paragraph, I would love to gift a She is Lovely reader with a $25 giftcard to either J.Crew or Madewell! Because after having a year worth of blogging experience, I've come to realize how much you guys love those places and how much I've become to love those two places. hahaha.. So it's just fitting and nice to have money to spend at either stores, right??

Happy Monday!

This weekend had been nonstop busy! The Bridesmaids and I hosted a fun bridal shower for our good friend whose wedding is coming up soon in Hawaii! Which we all can't wait to soak up the Hawaiian sun while we walk down the aisle before her! hehe.. We prepped, cooked, and setup everything all at her parents' lovely home. We went down to the details to make sure it was all perfect! :)

The outfit that I chose to wear to the shower was a striped pencil skirt that I had found recently at the Rack while shopping for a gift! I paired it with a light blush toned top with ruffle details in the front. The cutout white heels are the heels I had actually bought for my friend's wedding to go with the Bridesmaid dress (the Bride's request for white). I figured I can wear it beforehand to make sure they were comfy enough to walk around in Hawaii! Good idea right??

Also, for those who are noticing the clothespins clipped onto our clothes, they were part of a fun shower game which the object was to not say the words, "wedding", "dress", and the Brides' fiance's name. haha.. If so, your clothespin gets taken away by the person who heard you say that word.. It was seriously so hard not to say any of those words!! And at the end, the person with the most clothespins at the end of the shower, wins! Let's just say I lost all of mine from the start of the game. -_-

Happy Wednesday!

The Summer heat is still staying around and the more it gets warmer.. the more I've realized that my long hair was starting to bug me. Like REALLY bug me.. so I dragged myself into a hair salon and told the girl to chop off three inches. She said that was going to be way too short for me so she did two inches instead. Probably was a good idea since I was just irritated with my hair at the time. haha.. So now the length and everything is perfect for the Summer heat!! It feels so light! :)

This outfit was inspired by the lovely Wendy from WendysLookbook. I was flipping through and caught this post that she had wore her boyfriend jeans and striped blazer together. I thought it was a great combo! Since it was pretty hot that day to wear my boyfriend jeans, I opted for boyfriend denim shorts and a grey sequined tank top instead! A great way to incorporate some comfy shorts into a casual outfit!

How would you wear boyfriend shorts?

Thanks so much for reading!

Happy Monday!

While unpacking into our new home, I found this high-low skirt hidden in one of my shopping bags with the tags still on. I completely forgot that I had bought this skirt a month or two ago and am now starting to wear it. I wore this fun casual outfit out to the Bite of Seattle yesterday with friends and family. The Bite is basically a taste of what Seattle has to offer and I usually go every summer. It's like a tradition to eat all kinds of yummy foods! :) While walking around, I realized how much I liked this skirt (not just because it's stretchy) and how it has the right length for my shorty legs to wear with flat sandals so it was comfier than wearing wedges. Oh.. and since I was so hungry, I realized I didn't take any pictures of my food during the Bite.. but my sister did take a pic of my last plate for the day. ;) Mmm.. Filipino food!

P.S. Don't mind the bruises on my legs in the first pic.. I went stand-up paddle boarding for the first time on Saturday and yeah.. the board somehow beat me. I didn't realize that until yesterday. Stupid board.
Other than that, I had a lot of fun!! :)

Happy Wednesday!

I'm in awe with this dress that I had received from For Elyse! It has everything that I possibly would want in a Summer dress! It's lightweight, it's the neutral color of charcoal grey so it goes with a lot of colors, the right length for my shorty legs, has some ruffle details (make it girly), AND it has pockets! For Elyse was really kind to let me choose what I wanted from their store and of course this was ideal to my style! I wanted to keep it neutral and pair it with some metallic accessories plus a pop of red with the belt and my Rosie Fox friendship bracelet! I think I found my perfect outfit for my Hawaii trip! This dress can totally be dressed up or down for any occasions. :)

As well as banners, business cards, magnets, etc. It's always been an idea on the back of my head that I might one day make some business cards for She is Lovely. I never thought I would due to the fact that I probably wouldn't be giving them out to a lot of people (unless you count maybe family and friends..) and plus I didn't know where to go for that kind of stuff anyways.. maybe Vistaprint? But then BuildASign.com contacted me asking if I would like design some cards and I thought this was a great opportunity to make some! It was super easy to go through their website and they already have templates on their site to help you get started. It didn't take me too long to put the design together and overall the final product turned out really nice! More than I had expected for sure. Happy Wednesday!

My little sister recently bought a brand new Canon camera and I was helping her test it out. And of course why not shoot my outfit here from the weekend as well right?? These were taken on Saturday while spending the whole day with family to celebrate our dad's birthday! We went to go watch Despicable Me 2 (such a cute and funny movie!) and then ate at one of his favorite restaurants. The whole day was nice and sunny so this sleeveless denim top was perfect and light! A great alternative to a denim jacket! And I love how it ties in front to give it a cropped look over the mint dress. I also matched my bottom eyeliner to the dress but it's kinda hard to tell. :)

What do you think of tie-front tops?

Summer Lace feat. Joules rainboots

Forever 21 denim jacket / Joules wellington boots / Bauble jewelry / Burberry glasses / Bow hair accessory / H&M maxi dress

Happy Tuesday!!

Lately the weather here in Seattle has been great. Some days it's really hot and some days it gets kinda gloomy. So far no rain though which is surprising just because normally we would have some around this time even with the sun shining. But yay for no rain!! I thought it would be fun to put together an outfit showing what I would wear once it starts sprinkling here in the Summer time. I love a white lace dress paired with a light denim jacket. I think with the right accessories, it adds the right girly touch! Also, featuring these adorable polka dot hot pink rain boots from Joules! Just the pop of green at the bottom matches well with the bubble necklace. I love a cute pair of rain boots! I definitely need these in my life! Joules also have other cute pairs such as this and this.
So many to choose from! :)

How would you pair these rain boots for Summer?
