Today I wanted to share an smoothie almond milk recipe that I've been making from time to time. Sometimes I change it up and keep it somewhat different each week but lately this has been my go-to smoothie! I always add at least one or two type of fruit and a handful of baby spinach or even kale! I really like to add the almond milk to get the ingredients blended nicely together. This week I've picked up the new #SilkAlmondBlends and Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber to try it out and have the added protein in almond milk. Can't go wrong with more benefits to the body!
Every morning my husband and I drink a glass of these kinds of green smoothies before heading to work or running our errands. I honestly feel more better whenever I can get a glass in just so I know that I've gotten my servings of fruits, veggies, and calcium! Also, another great way to entice your kiddies into getting their servings in without any fuss!
Onto the recipe below..
1. Two cups of Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber or AlmondCoconut Blend (your choice!)
2. One cup of fresh organic blueberries or frozen blueberries
3. One whole ripened banana
4. A small slice of ginger (for added kick and other benefits!)
5. Four tablespoons of all-natural greek yogurt (unsweetened)
6. Handful of baby spinach
Not pictured (optional): a sprinkle of chia seeds on top
Serving size: 2-3 glasses
Add all the ingredients into your blender.
I like to add the baby spinach at the bottom to blend better.
Pop on your lid and blend at a low speed up to high speed slowly.
Tip: You can add ice if you want to make it colder unless you're using frozen blueberries.
It is done and ready to serve! Top it with fresh blueberries and/or a sprinkle of chia seeds!
The Silk Almondmilk makes it extra creamy with the added flavor of almonds. Which helps hide the taste of the fresh ginger which you will not even notice!
FYI - This is a great replacement for those who are lactose-intolerant. :)
If you want to try this recipe, I went to go pick up Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber and/or Silk AlmondCoconut Blend at my local Safeway. It was conveniently located in their dairy milk refrigerated aisle right next to the creamers and soy milks. So glad that they had them available at the middle to bottom shelves.. easy to reach for us shorties. ;) #CollectiveBias
Hope you guys enjoy the green smoothie recipe! Let me know your opinions of using almond milk!
