Nothing better in the cold season than an over-sized coat for the Winter. I had found this coat recently at H&M last month and just love the marled pattern and of course the grey color! I paired it with my over-sized red buffalo plaid flannel top and warm fleece-lined leggings. A great outfit for the season and holidays!

I was also sent these pair of sunglasses from Polette that is an eyewear company based out of Paris, France which started back in August 2011! I chose the Rubis B.S. because I really like over-sized look that sits well on my face. It's both chic and fashionable. ;)  Polette's concept is to provide eyewear at an inexpensive price but yet still within the classic style and trend. They have a whole wide range from sunglasses to prescription frames. The quality is pretty sturdy for what it is and the sunglasses came in a nice logo pouch with a cloth to wrap the lens when it's dirty. Overall a great pair of sunglasses for a decent price!

To learn more about Polette, you can go here! In the meantime - since the Holidays are almost here, the kind people at Polette wanted to give my readers a chance to win a pair of your choice of Polette frames! All you will need to do is follow the Rafflecopter below and a few mandatory steps:

Semi-Messy Hair Tutorial feat. Obadiah Salon

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

Something new happening today on the blog.. I've teamed up with Obadiah Salon to give you guys my first ever hair tutorial featuring the Oribe Dry Texturing Spray! To give you guys some background on my hair, it has always been fine with lots of baby hairs. It also gets frizzy when it comes to humidity, which sucks when we travel to Hawaii or anywhere hot. And I have to wash it every other day because the oils in my hair builds up so fast leaving me with greasy hair by the third day. Overall, it just doesn't do well. And unfortunately I also have to use hair tools in order to style my hair correctly to the way I would like it.. which means damaging my hair more than I should be. I wish that I can be one of those girls that air-dries the hair and just spray some product on my hair and zoom out the door. But reality hits and I have to just deal with it. So with using hair tools almost every day, I have to use products that will help prevent further damage which means heat protectant sprays and nourishing the ends with leave-in conditioners.

This hair tutorial will show you how I curl my hair and create a semi-messy look without looking too done up if that makes any sense. haha.. The Oribe Dry Texturing Spray creates volume to the hair that's been freshly washed or even can be used as a dry shampoo for second or third day hair! I've been using it almost every day this week and just LOVE it! I even think the smell is amazing! :)

Products that I use (listed out below):

Right: Oribe Dry Texturing Spray c/o Obadiah Salon

My Before pic after putting in a pump of the Bed Head Meringue from mid-shaft to the ends. Then any leftover product in my palms then into the roots. For added condition, I use the It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite and spray evenly all over my hair and a tiny half-pump (size of a dime) of Macadamia Leave-In Conditioner just to massage into the ends only.

Spray evenly around my hair using the TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray and clipping half of my hair up to work the bottom half first before curling.

FYI - if you're wondering.. I'm looking into my vanity mirror on the table to get a better view on what I'm exactly doing. ;)

I'm using a 1 1/2" Revlon Curling Iron (Similar) to create big curls for the bottom half. Sometimes I use it for the whole head if I want more waves than curls.

Grab a section of hair and curl away from the face and hold it for at least ten seconds. I count in my head.. do do doo.. haha.. Also, it's important for the heat protectant so it doesn't burn anything!

After curling the whole bottom half, I use my fingers to loosen them up to create volume.

If I use the 1 1/2" curling iron for the whole head, then I am done. But in this case, I decided to use my Conair Curling Wand which I like because it is clipless. The only thing is mastering how to use it without burning yourself.. that I'm still working on. So I'm using the half-glove that it comes with. Or at times I do alternate with my Hot Tools 1" Curling Iron which I love using as well. :)

Section out and I alternate from curling away from the face and towards the face. I don't like it too uniform so I just grab sections and curl. I will be "messing" it up so it won't be looking too neat.

After I'm done curling, I use my fingers to 'mess' up the tight curls by loosening up.

Shake the Oribe Dry Texturing Spray up very well and from a further distance of the head, grab a section of hair and lift up to spray towards the roots. Continue to do the same evenly around the head.
(The picture is a demo but it needs to be further than shown.)

Ta-da! The finished After look!
Top: c/o Aeropostale (Here)
Necklace: c/o 9th & Elm (Similar)
Earring: Brandy Melville
Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington (Here)

I basically sprayed and used my fingers to massage my scalp and hair around to get the product in. I made sure to lift my roots up while doing this so it'll create more volume and have the nice semi-messy look without being too crazy looking. As you can see... and do a little teasing with the comb. ;)

And for the next few days, I just re-curl a few sections of the hair and spray the Oribe again. It makes my hair feel like it has some 'grit' to it without feeling OR being dirty. A huge improvement in my hair routine now that I've been using this. I just love the way it feels and did I mention.. the amazing SMELL?! hahaha..
Hope you've enjoyed this hair tutorial and please let me know what hair product that you love!

In my previous post, I've talked about layering up for the Winter/Holidays but I've also been all about the grey and blacks in my wardrobe. I absolutely love the minimalist look which takes a no-brainer on what I should wear each time I enter my closet. I picked up this chunky sweater from H&M last month and loved it so much that I went back the next day to buy the same sweater but in dark grey. It's what I've been living because it is so cozy! And hey, if you like it.. you should stock up in multiple colors! Am I right? ;)

I was sent this gorgeous 'Classic Sheffield Lady' watch in Rose Gold from Daniel Wellington which to me completes the look. Its simple and minimalist design is so sleek and I love it! It's been on my wrist since the day I got it in the mail! hehe.. I also have a discount code for you guys if you're interested. Use the code 'holiday_sheislovelyblog' for 15% off on all DW products on www.danielwellington.com plus free worldwide shipping. The code is available until December 31st and if you place an order plus an extra strap, you will receive gift wrapping! A great gift idea for you or your loved ones or BOTH!

Holiday Layers with ModCloth

Happy Tuesday!

I've teamed up with ModCloth to show you guys my way of layering up for the Holidays! Living in the Pacific Northwest you don't really have a choice but to find ways to layer up from the cold and rain. So I am all about sweaters and chunky cardigans with a hint of accessories to go along with it. I absolutely love infinity scarves so definitely even though you're wearing a cute necklace, by putting a scarf on top with the necklace peeking through makes it extra special. And let's talk about boots! Wearing the booties with a pair of black leggings goes well with the long length of the cardigan so it can can cover your booty. Am I right? And great thing about layering is if you ever get too warm inside, you can always peel off some. ;) For more selection of cardigans from ModCloth click here!

Courtly Nutcracker Sweater (Here)
Flaunt Black Leggings (Here)
Cheerful Cavorting Top (Here)
Craft Fair Cute Scarf (Here)
Press Playlist Booties (Here)
Photogenic Fretwork Necklace (Here)

How would you layer up for the Holidays?

Also, thanks to everyone who entered into my latest giveaway to win the Target plaid scarf! The random winner has been chosen by the Rafflecopter and it is....

ClassPass Fitness Review [Seattle]

Thursday, December 4, 2014

Remember when I announced that ClassPass was expanding to Seattle here? Well I was able to give ClassPass a go for a month and show you guys how great of a deal it is. Let's start out that I'm not much of a fitness person. In some occasion I do go to the gym and lift weights and do my squats but let's be honest.. I HATE sweating. I don't tend to sweat much but if I do.. I do. So when I was browsing through the studios in the Seattle area, I wanted to try out different studios - each to their own workout. I was hoping not to sweat much but hey if you're going to sweat might as well do it right for your body. ;)

Here's a breakdown on three studios that I had checked out during the month:

1. Barre3 - The first studio I decided to sign up for. I usually do pilates and yoga so adding a little bit of dance while stretching is invigorating. Plus the instructor and staff were super friendly and even wanted to learn more about ClassPass and thought it was such a good deal! :)

$20 per class (without membership)

2. CorePower Yoga - This was my favorite class out of all three. I think because I used to go to hot yoga in the past and I am used to all the poses. So while the instructor was walking around the room telling us each pose to do, I was breezing through them and realized that the whole hour was up!

$20 per class (without membership)

3. Flywheel - I wasn't sure what to expect from this class but man this was intense! The instructor was very energetic and pumped up which is good for a class like this! I started to struggle in the middle but didn't give up. I felt great afterwards even though the entire time I kept thinking what am I doing here?? hahaha.. I definitely recommend it and go at your own pace for beginners. I kept my RPM at a steady 70-80 without pushing myself over too much. Slowly but surely I can get there. I also was able to bring along my husband as my guest and he enjoyed it a lot since he normally bikes for a workout and was at the top of the class according to the torqboard in front of us. #showoff
$25 per class (without membership)

So if you are interested in signing up for ClassPass, you can go request an invite here and it's $99 per month for the membership and you can try different kinds of studios like I did for a good price. Because as you can see, cost per class can add up for each studio!

And if you want to see the many studios in the Seattle area that ClassPass has so far. Click here! They are adding more and more each time. And offering ClassPass through the States so hopefully it will be coming soon to your city. :)

Disclaimer: ClassPass did give me the complimentary month membership so I can review.

It has been clear blue skies and freezing temps over here in the Pacific Northwest. We got our first snow of the season on Saturday which quickly became ice and then melted to nothing by end of day. I love snow and think it makes everything look oh so pretty but can't take the cold that comes along with it! I found this doggie beanie from Aeropostale really cute and it kept my head warm the entire time. Too bad they're currently sold out but there's other options of beanies on their site! Also, I found this polka dotted moto jacket in the kids' section of Target that I couldn't stop thinking about. How cute is this? :)

Hope everyone had a great Holiday and Christmas is in 23 days!!

Also, don't forget to enter in my latest giveaway here to win a Target plaid scarf! :)
