Soufeel

Happy Thursday!

Soufeel, a company based here in Seattle, WA recently sent me this cute charm bracelet, with individual charms that I got to pick out! Their charms and starter bracelet is comparable to the well-known Pandora which I personally have never owned myself. The quality is VERY similar though just by the look and feel. The starter bracelet and charms are each made out of 925 sterling silver which is nice and sturdy. I chose the sterling silver starter bracelet versus the leather cord bracelet because I feel that silver will last longer and hopefully won't tarnish. The charm that I chose were, this Eiffel Tower, Dog Pawprint, Ferris Wheel, and Love Envelope. All with each of their own unique reasoning. My heart will always belong to Paris, the dog pawprint is to respresent our furbaby, Kobi, the ferris wheel is a reminder to where the Hubs and I always had fun on and the love envelope represents the emails that we used to write back and forth with one another when we first started to date. We would write or draw (via Paint) each other pictures a lot. lol! :)

The bracelet and charms came in a beautifully wrapped box with a bag. The charms were each individually packaged so they were protected. The only downside was I should've picked a stopper because the charms fell against each other in a cluster when worn. But that's something I can deal with. Overall it's a cute bracelet! The prices are very affordable compare to Pandora and something to consider when shopping around for the next year's Mother's Day or a special occasion! Also, they just received some new arrivals in charms that are adorable!

Happy Tuesday!

I'm still on my extended long weekend which has been lovely. Hope everyone's holiday was nice as well! :) I wanted to talk about this cute canvas tote bag that I received from this company called idakoos. They specialize in customized tops and accessories. Their selection can be from tees to hoodies to mugs. But you don't have to customize if you don't have an image of your own. They have a whole library of graphics to choose from in each of their own category. When I went thru choosing for my tote bag, I decided on this pre-made image of the feather with birds because if anyone who knows me, I love birdies. :) When I received the tote, I was impressed on how big it was! Usually I'm used to a smaller size but this can seriously fit my laptop plus more! I probably will use it for travels or even my gym bag. The quality is great and the print is exactly how I saw it from the site.

Happy Thursday!

Today I'm going to talk about my review on the Jimmy Design base layer tank top that was sent to me by the company. They're based out in the UK and specializes in sportswear for both men and women. Their selection includes anything from sports bras to compression tops and bottoms. I will have to point out that their sizes for the tank runs small so I definitely had to go up one size from my usual. The material is very stretchy and hugs you in all the right places. And their prices are definitely affordable. I did wear this whole outfit while on a jog/walk with the Hubs at a local trail. Afterwards I kept it on for a whole day of running errands and I didn't feel a sweat as the tank kept me dry which is very nice! :)

**Closed** Wearing a Basic Tee + 9th & Elm Giveaway!

The How-To-Guide on Wearing a Basic Tee that’s Handmade, Independent or Otherwise COOL

We all know you can wear a tee shirt with basic leggings or denim, but what are the other cool ways to wear your favorite boyfriend tees and tanks!? I’ve got some ideas that can help you put some outfits together, or recognize some pieces missing in your wardrobe that you need stat!

The Sequin Maxi Skirt: Tuck that tee into the maxi skirt and blouse it a little. Also throw on a statement necklace with this look, so it balances out the loud sequin skirt and the tee shirt being so opposite of one another. A statement necklace isn't 100 percent necessary, but see how it looks. Purchase the I Have Nothing to Wear Tee here.

The Leather Mini Skirt: Throw this on with some tall pumps, and girl you are good to go! Leave it tucked in or let it out. I like both the polished and un-clean look here, so try both to see how you feel hotter! Purchase the But First, COFFEE Tee here.

The Cigarette Skinny-Legged Pant: You want to make sure these pants are tight, tight, tight, so the tee shirt is the only thing blousy here. Try it with a crop top, or a regular-fitted tee is perfect with this pant-look. Love it with a POP of color with the heels here. Try the cobalt blue like I did. Purchase the Hide Your Crazy & Act Like a Lady Tee here.

The Accordion Maxi Skirt: Much like how we styled the maxi sequin skirt, you can do the same for this look. Love the POP of color with the accordion maxi skirt here. Think it adds a lot to the tank giving it a dressier look with heals or a dressed down look with nice sandals. This look would also be great with a bright pink lip. Purchase the Wild Spirit Tank here.

The Boyfriend Jean: I love a good distressed boyfriend jean. Make sure to tight-roll those jeans, yes I said tight-roll like the 80’s (roll them high enough so they almost look like a capri skinny jean), and put on some baller heals with this look. Preferably a pump or one with an ankle strap and you could also add a blazer to complete this look. Purchase the Be YOU Tiful Tee here.

The Skater Skirt: This is a great look to have more fun with the tank. Try knotting it to the side or in the back and show a little skin. The bottom is so fun and flirty, why not flirt it up with the top too! Purchase the Drink Russian, Drive German, Wear Italian, Kiss French here.

Dressy Shorts: Put away those denim shorts for now ladies and gents, and let’s add a flouncy pair of shorts, or sequin, lace, to add some texture to the tee. While you’re at it, throw on some platform wedges to make sure those legs are looking long and lean! It’s the perfect tee to wear out with the girls to the bar, or out with your man. Purchase the Moon Shine Tee here.

Colored Jeans: It’s spring, after all, which means we need some color in our lives after all that drab black and dark colors in the winter that float around our closet. So let’s add that POP of color with our bottoms. Whether that means jeans or shorts, it doesn’t matter. Whatever you feel like that day, let it shine with your new tee or tank. Don’t have any colored denim, try white jeans too! Purchase the Rock Me Mama Like a Wagon Wheel Tank here.

So stop wearing your tee like everyone else, and let’s jazz it up this spring! But first, you need a cool tee that screams you. Try out these tanks and tees this spring and bring your personality out with not only the top, but the bottoms too.

Which one is your favorite tee?

Essensuals London [Seattle]

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

I was recently invited over this past weekend to come check out the Essensuals London hair salon owned by twin brothers, Jason and Robert Townsend. The duo who originated from Cali decided to open up a hair salon here in Seattle (Capitol Hill neighborhood) earlier this year. Their parent company is based out in London and they carry redken, pureology, and label. m products which is what they soley use during London Fashion Week! With both brothers' combined experience and knowledge on hair, these guys knows exactly what they are doing! Must I add that they are also both very funny and at times I couldn't stop laughing as I flip thru all the photos to put this post together. I seriously have a lot of facial expressions. ;)

My whole experience (lots of photos coming up..):

Coming over from the Eastside, it was fairly easy to find parking on a Saturday! And when we arrived, we were greeted by both brothers right when we walked in. The salon's interior decor was minimalistic yet chic and modern. I just love the white walls! As you can see below, the salon doesn't have specific stations like you see in any other hair salons which makes them different and unique!

Changed into a black robe to get more comfy and was offered a yummy mimosa. ;)

While waiting, I was recording everything thru Snapchat (my new addiction!)
Follow me at: @sheislovelyblog

Had a brief consultation with both, Robert specializes in color while Jason does the hair cut.

Right away they knew exactly what they wanted to do with my hair. Such a relief because I fully trusted their judgement and choices. Robert showed me a pic of a client he colored previously and we both agreed that was what I was going to get as well. A subtle light brown color melt that will highlight to my natural dark brown hair.

After deciding on the color melt, Jason shows me what he'll be doing for my hair cut.
A shorter lob* with sweeped bangs. Getting rid of the typical 'v' cut on the back and adding more texture.

*long bob
Starting my color melt first with Robert.

Sharing his knowledge on the product dye he uses for my color which won't dry out my hair at all.
One of the main reasons why I stopped dyeing my hair in the past.

As he's applying, he shares tips on not using hot water to wash my hair and to shampoo the scalp and less focus on the hair itself. Rinsing the shampoo will be washed thru the hair anyways.

Balayage is a French technique and term meaning "to sweep" the color.

After the waiting period and the foils were checked by Robert. Got my hair shampooed and conditioned by Nick, who used this amazing smelling label. m organic shampoo!

Next, I met back up with Jason to start my hair cut.

He cuts 5-6 inches off of my hair. It was definitely a change but I was ready for it!

Of course.. I'm snapchatting the process while he blow dries my hair. ;)

As you can see, Jason added a lot of texture to the back with no product needed! I was amazed!

They use the Bio Ionic stylewinder rotating curling iron. Which is a game changer to curl hair with!

Gorgeous curls! You can see the subtle highlights coming thru against the natural light.

I admit, I have a hard time finding someone to do and understand my hair especially since asian hair isn't always easy to work with. But Jason knew exactly what my hair specifically needed. Not just a general cut.

Jason informs me how it should always be reverse directional curls. Changing between inwards and outwards curling. Not just going one direction. Definitely following that rule!

Spraying with light hairspray and using the fingers to loosen up the curls and build the volume.

Jason fixes my hair to get ready for the final photos. :)

Absolutely in love with my new hair!! <3
